A group of bipartisan lawmakers have introduced a bill in the U.S. House to replace the H-2A guest worker program.
The Ag and Legal Workforce Act incorporates language that was defeated on the House floor in June. The bill would create an H-2C program for seasonal and year-round employers and transition to a digital E-Verify system. The legislation would allow 450,000 visas, good for three years, and requires employers to provide health insurance.
