Less than one-hundredth of a percent of milk tankers tested positive for antibiotic residues in the 2019 fiscal year, the lowest in 24 years.
Every single tank of milk on farms
and delivered to processing facilities is required to test for antibiotics. If a test is positive, the milk is dumped,
and farms can face regulatory action.
The National Milk Drug Residue Database reports in 2019, almost four million samples were taken and only 556 were positive.
