Arkansas farmers made good harvest progress last week, with corn and rice growers nearing the finish line.
The USDA reports as of Sunday 96% of corn is harvested, followed by rice at 89%, soybeans at 60%, cotton at 32% and peanuts at 16% harvested.
The agency rates the cotton crop 65% good to excellent, soybeans 68% good to excellent and peanuts 74% good to excellent.
Winter wheat planting reached 13% complete with 3% of the crop emerged.
