Arkansas planting continues at a slower than average pace

Planting in Arkansas continues to run well behind the average pace. Twenty-six percent of the corn crop has been planted, behind both last year and the 5-year average. Thirteen percent of the crop has emerged.  Rice planting is 9% complete, also well behind last year and the 5-year average.  Soybeans are 8% planted, behind last year and the 5-year averages.  Four percent of the crop has emerged.

Thirteen percent of the winter wheat crop has headed with 70% of the crop rated good to excellent.
