A crop protection company has developed what it’s calling the most groundbreaking innovation in soybean cyst nematode management in more than 60 years.
BASF trait development manager Mike McCarville says Nemasphere is a novel solution that will help the more than 200,000 soy growers affected by SCN.
“We’ve created a transgenic trait to provide a new mode of action and a new type of resistance to the market, so we can bring new resistant varieties for the farmer so (they) can get back to managing soybean cyst nematode the way they want to.”
He tells Brownfield nematodes, which are the leading cause of soybean yield loss in the U.S., are becoming more resistant to traits currently on the market.
