BASF closed its acquisition of assets from Bayer Wednesday.
Senior vice president for BASF Crop Protection North America Paul Rea says the $9 billion-dollar purchase transforms how the company provides farmers more tools and solutions.
“These assets are a great opportunity for us to further expand and deepen our commitment to innovation, supporting farmers with the tools they all need for the long-term.”
In a conference call with reporters, Rea said BASF’s new combined R&D budget will expand beyond $1 billion-dollars.
