Bayer expects to close on its acquisition of Monsanto this Thursday.
Bayer’s Crop Science Division president Liam Condon says the two companies will continue to operate separately until divestments to BASF are finalized which is expected to take about two months. “The company name of Bayer is and will remain Bayer, and Monsanto will no longer be a company name after this initial two-month period.” He says the new company will operate under the name Bayer and strong brands of the like DeKalb will remain.
