Bayer Crop Science calls the EPA’s finding that glyphosate does
not cause cancer significant.
In a statement, Bayer says it’s still reviewing the EPA’s
interim decision but “firmly believes that the science supports the safety of
glyphosate-based herbicides.”
Bayer acquired RoundUp glyphosate herbicide when it merged
with Monsanto. Several court cases have awarded judgments to plaintiffs who
claim glyphosate caused their cancer. Bayer is appealing those cases.
The EPA is in the re-registration process of the herbicide.
