Indiana-based Beck’s, the nation’s largest family-owned seed
company, has established its first official location in Minnesota. The
company began serving farmers in Minnesota in 2018. Beck’s president
Scott Beck says the 44,000 square-foot facility, located in Olivia, Minnesota,
shows their commitment to farmers and dealers in Minnesota, northern Iowa, and
South Dakota.
The Olivia corn-breeding team will have 30,000 plots in 2019 and will grow to 90,000 plots in 2021. Beck’s has also established a partnership with a French seed company, RAGT, that will be utilized at the Olivia facility to develop genetics in the 90 to 105-day relative maturity range.
