The Missouri Attorney General and the Missouri Department of Agriculture caution farmers and ranchers to be aware of scammers as they purchase hay for livestock.
The Attorney General says there have been at least 12 complaints from Missouri farmers who have responded to a fake advertisement on social media where they’re told to wire money to a bank account after which the hay will be delivered, but then, they don’t receive the hay.
