Last week’s average daily ethanol production was the second highest on record.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.1 million barrels a day, 8,000 less than the previous all-time high hit during the week of December 1st, 2017. Week to week, the total was up 36,000 barrels as the industry tries to meet expected summer driving demand and prepare for the possibility of year around E15 use.
Stocks jumped 965,000 barrels to 22.923 million, the biggest domestic supply since mid-March.
