A mid-Michigan farmer has been named the new director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced Dr. Tim Boring will lead the department starting March 27th.
Boring has been serving as the State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency since 2021. Boring previously was the president and founder of Michigan Agriculture Advancement, the Vice President of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, and worked as research director of the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee.
