Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada and China are in talks to deepen bilateral trade and work toward an “eventual” free trade agreement.
Trudeau spoke with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang at the third annual Canada-China leaders’ dialogue.
The two leaders also recognized the outcomes of recent meetings including a commitment to double ag trade between the two countries by 2025 and continue trade talks.
This announcement comes as trade tensions with the U.S.
