The USDA says dairy exports to Canada have seen significant growth over the past decade.
The Economic Research Service reports total dairy exports to Canada increased 48 percent between 2010 and 2021 to $691.5 million.
The USDA says its proximity makes infant formula an ideal product and the top dairy exported item by value, followed by fluid milk, cream, and milk-based drinks.
The country also often imports supplemental amounts of fluid milk, butter, butterfat, cheese, and cream to meet production shortfalls.
