Chicago Mercantile Exchange live and feeder cattle futures were mixed, preparing for this week’s widespread direct cash cattle business. Feeders ignored the losses in corn, which usually provides support. October live was down $.07 at $181.47 and December was up $.22 at $185.87. September feeders were $.25 lower at $254.02 and October was down $.27 at $256.75.
Direct cash cattle trade was very quiet on Tuesday with bids and asking prices still not established, and if trends continue, significant trade volume may be delayed until Thursday or Friday.
