Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher and feeders were lower, watching corn while waiting for widespread direct business and Friday’s USDA numbers. August live was up $1.15 at $181.27 and October was $1.30 higher at $183.55. August feeder cattle were down $1.25 at $248.00 and September was $1.42 lower at $250.00.
Direct cash cattle trade remained quiet Tuesday afternoon. Bids and asking prices are yet to be established. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Wednesday or Thursday.
