Rental rates for Iowa farmland increased this year for the first time since 2013, according to an Iowa State University Extension survey.
Rental rates increased by an average of 1.4 percent to 222 dollars per acre statewide. The highest average cash rent was in the central region, at 290 dollars per acre, in Grundy County.
The cumulative drop in Iowa rental rates, since their peak of 270 dollars per acre in 2013, is 17.8 percent.
