Cattle futures higher heading into holiday break

At the Chicago

Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day higher with support from the higher

cash trade.  Feeder cattle were higher on

the same factor with additional support from the day’s lower move in corn.  December live cattle closed $1.02 higher at

$121.45 and February contracts closed $1.02 higher at $126.70.  January feeder cattle closed $1.70 higher at

$143.32 and March feeders closed $1.70 higher at $143.92. 

Direct cash cattle trade is underway.
