Cattle futures higher on fundamental support

At the Chicago

Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day sharply higher, supported by last

week’s higher cash trade and stronger wholesale values.  Feeder cattle were higher on the same factors

with additional support from the day’s weaker move in corn.  February live cattle closed $2.55 higher at

$127.27 and April live cattle closed $2.42 higher at $128.10.  January feeder cattle closed $4.07 higher at

$147.42 and March feeders closed $3.67 higher at $146.35. 

It’s a typically quiet for a Monday for direct cash cattle trade.
