At the Chicago
Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day higher on the continued strength
in the cash trade, oversold signals and stronger wholesale values during the
session. Friday’s Cattle on Feed and Cold
Storage numbers were also somewhat supportive.
Feeder cattle were higher on the same factors. December live cattle closed $1.02 higher at
$119.70 and February contracts closed $1.30 higher at $125.15. January feeder cattle closed $2.67 higher at
$141.95 and March contracts closed $2.72 higher at $142.32.
Direct cash cattle trade activity is still quiet.
