Cattle futures higher waiting for direct cash business

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were higher watching the direct markets.  October live cattle closed $2.34 higher at $185.47 and December lives closed $2.50 higher at $190.35.  October feeders closed $2.82 higher at $261.87 and November feeders closed $3.27 higher at $264.85.

Direct cash cattle trade business has been sporadic throughout the week.  The very limited deals reported have been in the North at $180 to $185 live and $286 to $290 dressed – not near enough to establish and accurate price trend.
