Cattle futures lower, hogs higher to end the week

Chicago Mercantile Exchange live and feeder cattle futures were lower, pressured by the modestly higher move in corn and follow through technical selling. December live was down $1.05 at $129.27 and February was $1.52 lower at $134.22. November feeder cattle were $1.07 lower at $156.57 and January was down $1.45 at $156.12.

Direct cash cattle trade was quiet to round out the week. Deals ranged from $124 to $126 in the South, steady to $2 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.
