At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were mostly lower, waiting for direct business to develop. December live cattle closed $.47 lower at $175 and February live cattle closed $.57 lower at $176.07. January feeders closed $1.52 lower at $228.32 and March feeder cattle closed $1.07 lower at $231.22.
Direct cash cattle trade for the most part was quiet again Tuesday. A few bids did surface at $278 to $280 dressed in Nebraska, but were passed.
