At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed mostly lower ahead of wide-spread direct trade and Friday’s Cattle on Feed report. Long-term supply and demand concern also added pressure to the market. October live cattle closed $.72 lower at $112.65 and December live cattle closed $.20 lower at $117.77. October feeder cattle closed $1.07 lower at $154.02 and November feeder cattle closed $1 lower at $154.22.
Direct cash cattle trade is fairly quiet.
