At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day mixed mostly lower ahead of widespread direct cash business and Friday’s on feed numbers. Feeder cattle were mostly higher on the same factors. December live cattle closed $.07 at $122.22 and February live cattle closed $.95 at $126.30. January feeder cattle closed $.10 lower at $145.15 and March feeder closed $.12 higher at $145.72.
Cattle country remains quiet into the afternoon. There are a few early asking prices at $122 live in the South and $195 dressed in the North.
