Cattle futures mostly lower to start the week

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were mostly lower, waiting for the week’s direct business to develop.   April live cattle were unchanged at $187.60 and June live cattle closed $.40 lower at $183.02.  April feeder cattle closed $1 lower at $253.10 and May feeders closed $1.37 lower at $255.37.

Direct cash cattle trade activity was quiet Monday. Showlists this week are mixed – higher in Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in Kansas and Texas.
