Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher, supported by commercial buying, with the trade expecting solid beef demand. December and February both notched new contract highs during the session. Still, those months and most other contracts closed below the session highs as traders wait for widespread direct business. December was up $1.57 at $112.92 and February was $1.20 higher at $123.95.
Feeder cattle were up, following the lead of the live pit.
