At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle ended the day higher ahead of widespread direct cash business. There was additional support from the higher boxed beef prices during the session and the lower move in corn. February lives closed $.97 higher at $157.75 and April live cattle closed $.85 higher at $161.52. March feeder cattle closed $.65 higher at $186.30 and April feeders closed $.80 higher at $190.62.
Direct cash cattle business is off to another slow start.
