At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed mixed in limited trade volume and a narrow range. The market is looking for direction from the cash cattle trade – but that isn’t likely to happen until later in the week. Feeder cattle trade is also sluggish, especially with the early-week holiday. February live cattle closed $.30 lower at $123.87 and April live cattle closed $.15 lower at $126.25. January feeder cattle closed $.22 lower at $148.85 and March feeder cattle closed $.12 lower at $146.75.
