At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures ended the day lower pressured by sliding beef prices. Contracts are at a premium to cash. Nearby domestic demand uncertainties are also adding pressure, as Hurricane Florence has the potential to cause a lack of demand at the meat counter. October live cattle closed $.85 lower at $109.30 and December live cattle closed $.50 lower at $113.92. September feeder cattle closed $.40 lower at $152.45 and October feeder cattle closed $.22 lower at $152.45.
