Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were mostly higher
ahead of the rest of the week’s direct cash business and Friday’s USDA Cattle
on Feed report. On average, analysts expect the major categories to be below a
year ago. October was down $.57 at $99.80 and December was $.32 lower at
$105.82.
Feeder cattle were up on the same factors as the live pit. Commercial
spread adjustments were also a feature. September was $.07 higher at $139.95
and September was up $.52 at $138.92.
