Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were mixed, mostly firm, with boxed beef mixed at midday, waiting for the week’s widespread direct cash cattle business. Hurricane Florence is expected to lead to at least some disruption in beef demand. October was down $.67 at $110.80 and December was $.12 lower at $115.40.
Feeder cattle were modestly higher, getting ready for widespread direct trade, with support from the lower move in corn.
