A cattle producer from north-central South Dakota says he’s interested to see how USDA responds to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s stance on cattle traceability.
Craig Bieber tells Brownfield…
“I think it’s better if producers are in control of what happens with animal disease traceability,” he says. “The administration is pushing toward more traceability in cattle and there’s a desire from consumers to have that as well.”
The USDA is in the process of amending a rule on traceability regulations and NCBA updated their stance on the issue last week at the annual convention.
