The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association will fine tune their stance on cattle traceability today and cattle producers are ready to discuss it.
Kansas Livestock Association President Philip Weltmer tells Brownfield the resolution was introduced by Kansas producers.
“Be it further resolved, the NCBA supports the adoption and implementation in the beef industry of electronic ID devices for interstate movement of all breeding aged animals greater than 18 months and rodeo and exhibition cattle.”
Weltmer says it’s important for cattle producers to fine tune their stance on cattle traceability as USDA proposes a rule to amend traceability regulations that requires electronic identification.
