Producers and landowners will be able to
sign up for general Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) in early December
USDA Deputy Secretary Stephen Censky says
the rule for CRP signup is under review at the White House Office of Management
and Budget.
“We think it’s going to be one of the biggest CRP signups we’ve had for a lot of years,” Censky says. “With the cap increasing under the CRP and the amount of acres that were expiring, we expect really good and robust participation.”
Congress raised the acreage cap under CRP
to 27 million acres in the 2018 farm bill.
