The USDA reports a record amount of chicken in cold storage at the end of October.
Chicken stocks jumped 8% to 942.926 million pounds because of high production levels and steady to slow demand, pushing total poultry 4% higher to 1.391 billion, even as turkey stocks declined 4% to 444.663 million pounds because of seasonal demand improvements. New monthly record highs were also established for chicken breasts & breast meat and drumsticks.
