China’s agriculture ministry is implementing new regulations to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever.
The announcement comes after ASF was discovered at a large hog farm in China.
According to various media reports, the regulations will require Chinese slaughterhouses to run ASF tests before selling pigs. If the disease is detected at any point, the facility must cull the pigs to be slaughtered and suspend operations for 48 hours.
The new regulations will go into effect Feb.
