Weekend trade talks between the U.S. and China produced no immediate breakthroughs. In fact, some analysts fear efforts to resolve the trade dispute may have taken a step back, with China warning that all progress between the two countries could be lost if the U.S. pushes ahead with trade sanctions, including tariffs.
It’s not clear if or when another round of talks will take place, but a spokeswoman for China’s foreign ministry said today that “the door is always open” to further discussions.
