China has fired back against the Trump administration’s threat to increase proposed tariffs on 200 billion dollars of Chinese goods.
In a statement, China’s Ministry of Commerce said if the U.S. proceeds with its threat, China is “fully prepared and will have to retaliate to defend the nation’s dignity”.
The ministry’s remarks came after President Trump instructed U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to consider raising proposed tariffs on 200 billion dollars in Chinese goods from 10 percent to 25 percent.
