A leading grain bin manufacturer recently welcomed a Chinese delegation interested in ethanol.
Steve Sukup, CFO of northern Iowa-based Sukup Manufacturing, says China is looking for ways to reduce air emissions, and ethanol offers a cleaner burning fuel.
“I think the sky’s the limit if they really get onto the ethanol market. In the U.S. we burn 15 billion gallons, and I’m sure they’d be at that equivalent of what they would need over there with a population four times that (of the U.S.).”
China plans to include 10% ethanol in all fuel sold nationwide by the year 2020.
