An expansion of soybean crush capacity is currently underway in the United States.
Demand for clean fuels like biodiesel and renewable diesel is helping drive the rapid expansion. Steve Censky is the CEO of the American Soybean Association.
“We’ve seen over 24 major expansions or brand-new crush plants that have been announced or are underway,” he says.
If all the planned new or expanded crush plants come online, he tells Brownfield, “we’re going to see an expansion in 3-5 years of crush capacity in the United States by about one third.
