Milk futures were higher in the near months and the cash dairy markets were all higher Monday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
February Class III milk was up $0.40 at $16.46. March was up $0.53 at $17.06. April was up $0.53 at $17.09. May was up $0.37 at $17.62.
June through December contracts ranged from seven cents lower in November to fourteen cents higher in June. Friday’s trade volume was estimated at just under twenty-five hundred contracts.
Dry whey was up $0.0075 at $0.45. One sale was recorded at that price.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were up $0.0725 at $1.61. Five sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5450 to $1.61.
Cheese barrels were up $0.08 at $1.55. Six sales were recorded, ranging from $1.5050 to $1.55.
Butter was up $0.0425 at $2.8025. Two sales were recorded at $2.8025 and $2.8050.
Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0050 at $1.2250. Five sales were recorded, ranging from $1.22 to $1.2250.
