CME milk futures & cash dairy prices lower Friday

Milk futures and the cash dairy markets closed the week lower Friday except for butter on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

December Class III milk was down $0.05 at $16.15.  January was down $0.34 at $15.90.  February was down $0.20 at $16.14.  March was down $0.30 at $16.78.  April through November contracts ranged from fourteen cents lower in April to four cents higher in November, and November was the only month with a gain in value. 

Dry whey remained unchanged for a third day at $0.3950.  No sales were recorded. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.05 at $1.52.  Two sales were recorded at $1.52 and $1.53. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0450 at $1.45.  Eleven sales were recorded, ranging from $1.4450 to $1.4950. 

Butter was up $0.03 at $2.49.  Two sales were recorded at $2.47 and $2.49. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0050 at $1.16.  One sale was recorded at that price.
