Milk futures were mixed and the cash dairy markets were mostly higher Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
February Class III milk was down $0.02 at $16.19. March was up $0.17 at $17.43. April was up $0.11 at $17.67. May was down $0.01 at $17.92.
June through December contracts ranged from unchanged in October and December to eight cents lower in June. Tuesday’s Class III trade volume was lighter with just over nine hundred contracts.
Dry whey remains unchanged at $0.52 for a third straight trading session. No sales were recorded.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.5850. Three sales were recorded at that price.
Cheese barrels were up $0.0050 at $1.60. One sale was recorded at that price.
Butter was unchanged at $2.7125. No sales were recorded.
Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0075 at $1.1925. Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $1.19 to $1.1950.
