Milk futures were mostly lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
December Class III milk was down $0.01 at $16.10. January was down $0.03 at $16.19. February was down $0.17 at $16.58. March was up $0.02 at $17.33. April through October contracts ranged from unchanged in June and July to four cents lower in August and September.
Dry whey remained unchanged at $0.3975. No sales were recorded.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.05 at $1.54. Nine sales were recorded, ranging from $1.54 to $1.5625.
Cheese barrels were up $0.0250 at $1.51. Two sales were recorded at $1.5050 and $1.51.
Butter was up $0.0325 at $2.6550. One sale was recorded at $2.65.
Nonfat dry milk was down $0.02 at $1.1750. Nine sales were recorded, ranging from $1.17 to $1.18.
