CNH Industrial, the makers of CASE IH and New Holland farm equipment, is collaborating with satellite company Intelsat to provide farmers improved internet access.
CNH chief digital and information officer Marc Kermisch says the deal will address rural connectivity problems many ag producers face by providing a persistent connection.
“So the operator and the farmer can execute their farm missions as they plan. And for the farmers who are on the go and have operators in the field, they can have confidence the data is going back up to our field ops cloud environment and they can access that through their phone on the go and be able to see how operations are progressing.”
He tells Brownfield Intelsat is unique in that the company boasts multiple layers of geo-spatial satellites.
