Condition ratings decline for Minnesota corn, soybeans

Favorable weather allowed Minnesota farmers to spray crops and cut hay last week.

USDA’s latest crop report rates corn at 66 percent good to excellent, down two percent on the week.

Soybeans are called 63 percent good to excellent, five percent lower than a week ago.  Soybean development is five days behind normal with 22 percent blooming.

Spring wheat is 34 percent headed and 69 percent good to excellent, oats are 58 percent headed and 64 percent good to excellent, and barley is 40 percent headed with 56 percent considered good to excellent.
