Conditions are ripe for many Minnesota farmers to begin planting.
University of Minnesota Extension crops educator Dave Nicolai says recent moisture stunted fieldwork.
“But I think that in the next two or three days we’ll see quite a bit more activity, we’re going to get past that crop insurance date for a lot of Minnesota in terms of corn planting. So that will be advantageous.”
He tells Brownfield research shows farmers don’t have to push planting dates too hard.
