Cool, wet conditions are impacting spring calving in southwest Minnesota.
Cow/calf producer Mark Enninga of Fulda says they prefer to calve on pasture.
“Being in alignment with nature and having calves out on green grass is always nice from a health standpoint, and the cows couldn’t hardly get to the pastures because of the snow.”
But he tells Brownfield a stretch of warm weather earlier this month melted enough snow to move cows out.
