
Arkansas farmers made good harvest progress last week.
The USDA reports as of October 1st corn harvest is 92% complete followed by rice at 81%, soybeans at 47%, cotton at 12% and peanuts at 3%. Corn, soybean and rice harvest are all ahead of the five-year average pace, while cotton and peanuts are behind.
Crop conditions declined slightly week over week with the agency rating the Arkansas peanut crop 75% good to excellent, followed by soybeans at 71% and cotton at 68% good to excellent.
